The service

NetReport takes a raw export from your accounting software, cleans it, structures it, and turns it into a clear monthly management dashboard and written summary. You get a view of what you earned, what you spent, your margin, and what it all means. No digging through Xero or relying on your accountant for day-to-day clarity.
Those tools connect directly to your accounting software and visualise whatever's in there. If your accounts have errors (and most do), they'll visualise those too. NetReport cleans and structures the data first, then visualises it. The result is a dashboard you can actually trust, not one that faithfully reflects three years of miscategorised transactions.
We work from exports, not live integrations, so we're compatible with any software that can export data: Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, or a manual spreadsheet. We'll let you know exactly what to export on our intro call.
You can see a full interactive example on our homepage. Every dashboard includes four headline KPI cards, a six-month revenue and profit trend chart, a cost breakdown by category, and for multi-site businesses, a branch-by-branch performance table. Each month also comes with a written summary explaining what the numbers mean.

Tailoring and custom metrics

No. Most financial software gives you a generic view: revenue, costs, and a profit figure. That works if your business is straightforward, but it rarely tells you what actually drives performance. NetReport is built around your business, not a one-size-fits-all template. We start with a conversation about what you actually want to understand, and build the dashboard around that.
That depends on your business. A restaurant might want revenue per cover and labour as a percentage of revenue. A retailer might track gross margin by product line or average order value. A service business might care about billable hours as a percentage of capacity. As part of your setup, we work with you to identify the metrics that are genuinely useful and include them in your dashboard each month. You choose what you want to see.
Tools like Xero, QuickBooks, and most reporting add-ons connect directly to your accounts and display whatever is in there. If your data has errors, they display those too. They also apply a standard structure to every business, which means the view you get is built for the average company, not yours. NetReport cleans the data first, then structures it around how your business actually works. The result is a dashboard you can trust and that answers the questions you actually have.
Yes. As your business evolves, your dashboard can evolve with it. If you want to start tracking a new metric, add a product line, or restructure how costs are categorised, we update the dashboard to reflect that. It is not a fixed template you are locked into.

Getting started

We start with a free 20-minute call to understand your business and confirm pricing. After that, we ask for a data export and typically have your first dashboard ready within a few working days. Once the initial build is done, each monthly refresh takes less time and arrives automatically.
No. We work from exported files only and never ask for login credentials to your accounting software, bank, or any other system. You export the data, share it with us securely, and we handle everything from there.
Messy accounts are exactly the situation NetReport is built for. The cleanup and structuring is the job. Common issues we handle include: clearing accounts miscategorised as revenue, deposits counted as income, VAT muddled in, and ad-hoc expenses that haven't been categorised. We'll flag anything that needs your attention and work with what we have.

Pricing and plans

Each month you send us your latest data export. We update the dashboard, check for any changes in structure or categorisation, and produce a written summary with commentary on the numbers. The retainer covers the ongoing refresh work, not a rebuild from scratch each time.
The setup fee covers the initial build: understanding your business, cleaning historical data, building your dashboard structure, and calibrating the metrics to your specific setup. This is the most time-intensive part. After that, monthly refreshes are much faster because the structure is already in place.
Yes. There's no long-term contract. We ask for reasonable notice (typically one month) so we can close things off cleanly, but you're not locked in.

Data and accuracy

We aim for directional accuracy: figures that are reliable enough for management decisions, not penny-perfect statutory accounts. We're transparent about anything uncertain, and every output carries a note confirming it's management information only, not a substitute for your accountant or auditor.
We flag it. If we spot something that looks like a structural error, a miscategorisation, or an unusual movement, we'll highlight it in the report rather than silently include it. You stay informed about what's solid and what needs a closer look.
No, and we're upfront about that. NetReport fills the gap between your accountant (who handles your annual filings) and your day-to-day need for financial clarity. We handle management information. Your accountant handles statutory compliance, tax, and anything regulated. You need both.
